We have helped hundreds (? Thousands) of competitive athletes achieve their performance goals through proper training and racing nutrition, hydration and electrolyte supplementation as warranted. We have worked with athletes ranging from first time marathoners to those qualifying for the Boston Marathon or Olympic trials, triathletes completing their first Olympic distance event, ½ ironman or Ironman World Championship triathlon in Kona. We also work with multi-day adventure racers, collegiate and professional athletes, swimmers, soccer players, golfers and more.

We also enjoy working with recreational and aspiring athletes and individuals just embarking on their health and fitness regime. Our Nutrition Energy director, Lauren Antonucci, is a marathoner and triathlete, and has served as a head coach for the NYC Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team In Training Program triathlon team, and now coaches for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Mom's In Training program. As such, Lauren Antonucci helps both new and returning athletes discover their athletic passion and achieve their fitness, nutrition and overall health goals simultaneously.

The Plan

Your individual sports performance nutrition plan begins with a 60 to 90 minute consultation to review your training schedule, goals, medical, nutrition, and diet history. You are encouraged to keep a 3-5 day food and training diary to assist our nutritionist in determining your typical intake of overall calories, protein, carbohydrate, fat, fluids, vitamins, and minerals. You will be provided with sample meal plans, overall nutrition goals and a shopping list based on your specific training and lifestyle needs. Follow-up appointments are 30-60 minutes, provide ongoing education based on your changing training and competition needs, and can address any of the following as appropriate:

  • Your optimal energy intake to meet your training and weight goals
  • Calculation of your daily carbohydrate, protein, and fat needs
  • Changing energy needs with training cycles
  • Pre-training/competition nutrition requirements
  • Proper fueling during training/competition
  • Ensuring optimal recovery with adequate nutrition and protein
  • Hydration and electrolyte needs during endurance activity
  • Proper use of sports nutrition supplements
  • Vitamin and mineral supplementation
  • Body fat analysis
  • Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) Testing
