PERSONAL INTERESTS
Christina grew up competitively dancing from age 6 to 21. As a young dancer, Christina first handedly observed a culture of disordered eating, and the severe impact it had on many of her teammates. Compared to many of the girls on her dance team, Christina’s relationship with food was fairly unique. Christina’s upbringing in a Greek immigrant household celebrated food, while in the dance world it seemed as though food was feared. Christina feels fortunate that from a young age she experienced the positive roles food can play in terms of bringing people together, and bringing joy, through spending most of her childhood at her father’s restaurant in Queens.
Time spent with family often revolved around the meals they made together, which is an integral part of Greek culture. Living in Greece for 3 years during high school, Christina had the opportunity to live the true Mediterranean lifestyle. A culture that celebrates life, food and emphasizes enjoying the moment. During her time abroad, she did exactly that - traveling and connecting with people around the globe. Christina is always smiling; whether she is testing out new ideas in the kitchen, spending time with friends, or working out, she finds joy in the simple pleasures of life, and she loves to help others do the same.
PHILOSOPHY
Christina knows there is no one size-fits-all approach when it comes to nutrition and health and believes that a healthy lifestyle starts with a strong foundation of nutrition, incorporating mindful movement and listening to your body. She helps her clients learn to tune in to both physiological needs (hunger and satiety) as well as into their emotional needs. Christina knows all too well how much of life is missed when you are not living in accordance to your true authentic self and aims to alleviate some of the stress that accompanies managing nutrition related diseases or trying to adopt a healthier or more balanced lifestyle.
